Grand opening of the new logistics hub in Budoia

New spaces inaugurated on Saturday, April 20, in the presence of regional and local authorities and the Minister for Relations with Parliament, Luca Ciriani

Luca Ceccarelli: "The most important investment ever made by the Group."

The Group, a leader in the logistics and transport sector, has recovered a historic furniture factory in the Budoia Industrial Zone with an investment of 5 million euros.

Approximately 16,000 square meters of covered area, plus over 20,000 square meters of uncovered area, for a total of 40,000 square meters. However, the new Ceccarelli Group logistics hub opened in Budoia, in the Pordenone hinterland, did not consume new land, opting for the requalification of a historic furniture factory that had been abandoned for years.

The new hub of Ceccarelli Group, a leading company in the logistics and transport sector with its heart in Udine but with offices also in Trieste, Prato, Milan, Padua, as well as the new logistics hubs built in Pradamano and Tolmezzo, was officially inaugurated on Saturday, April 20, at 11 am. And it is with a look at these last two hubs that some are talking, with the arrival of Budoia, of a real logistics triangle in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

In addition to the top management of Ceccarelli Group, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new spaces, which are already operational, was attended by the Minister for Relations with Parliament, Luca Ciriani, the regional councillor for Agri-food, Forestry, Fishing and Mountain Resources, Stefano Zannier, the director of the Consortium for the Nucleus of the province of Pordenone (Nip), Saverio Maisto, and the mayor of Budoia, Ivo Angelin.

"Proud to represent the Government and to bring here the greetings of the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni," said the Minister for Relations with Parliament Luca Ciriani. "Today - commented the Minister - we are here to celebrate a courageous and development choice. Inaugurating such a large warehouse means betting on the future and looking ahead, accepting the challenges of global competition, but also creating new jobs and wealth for the community. As a government - continued Luca Ciriani, publicly thanking the Ceccarelli family - we try to stand by those who interpret life and their profession in this way. There is no redemption, there is no entrepreneurship, there is no future or growth without sacrifices or risks. I have always been wary of those who say that everything is easy. In life, you grow up with great commitment and we try to stand by those who have embraced this way of understanding life and this way of doing business. We are all proud - he concluded - of these stories of extraordinary families who then leave testimonies to the new generation, which create a lot of wealth that the whole territory enjoys."

Regional Councillor for Agri-food Resources, Stefano Zannier, was present to bring greetings from the President of the Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, and his colleague in the regional government, Sergio Emidio Bini, who were absent due to institutional commitments. "I do not look at this activity as the activity of a company - he commented -, but I look at its continuation in the future as the ability of an economic and productive system to play those games that it often struggles to approach in the right way, that is, trying to join forces to achieve a result. We have a great capacity in our production system - continued the Councillor -, but our productions are nothing if they do not reach the markets where they must arrive and are nothing if we do not have the components and the necessary parts to be able to produce. In the middle there is a chain that must be based on those who know how to do that job and here I believe that your family has demonstrated over the years that you know how to do the job. We are also fortunate to be on the doorstep of a very strong production system, which is not that of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, but that of the neighboring Veneto region, which needs our companies to be able to carry out a series of activities. We would be foolish not to look beyond and think that what is being inaugurated today - he concluded - could become a provincial, general, logistical hub that carries and transports, that makes a productive system grow and that brings an advantage to the regional community."

Strategic location in the Tagliamento area represents a €5 million investment for Ceccarelli Group, the largest in the Group's history.

"The former province of Pordenone, and more generally the neighboring eastern Veneto region, which we will be able to serve more easily thanks to this new hub," explains Luca Ceccarelli, president of Ceccarelli Group, "are very dynamic areas from an entrepreneurial point of view and are receptive to integrated logistics solutions. In addition, several crucial infrastructure projects are in the pipeline, including the Gronda Nord and the Pedemontana friulana, which will have a positive impact on the relaunch of the industrial fabric north of Pordenone."

"The municipal administration," commented the mayor of Budoia, Ivo Angelin, "can only thank Ceccarelli Group, a leader in the transport and logistics sector, for choosing the industrial area of Budoia to position a new large hub in the Pordenone area with an investment of millions of euros, recovering and restructuring existing buildings with a corporate vision oriented towards sustainability and the revitalization of an industrial fabric at the service of the territory. I believe that the adhesion of the Municipality of Budoia to the Nip Consortium - he continues -, the activation of the new logistics hub by Ceccarelli Group in our industrial area, together with all the companies that have been operating in our territory for years, together with the interventions of the Region, are the right mix for a relaunch of the industrial area affected by sector crises."

The new Budoia hub

"In line with our corporate vision oriented towards sustainability," explains Luca Ceccarelli, president of Ceccarelli Group, "we have decided not to build new buildings, but to requalify existing ones. We choose properties that have characteristics that make them suitable for storing all types of goods and that, therefore, comply with regulations with equipment such as sprinklers and smoke extractors that allow them to withstand an adequate fire load, as well as state-of-the-art anti-theft and video surveillance systems."

The new logistics hub in the Budoia Industrial Zone, already operational since last June and whose storage spaces are already fully occupied today, covers 40,000 square meters with a large square for parking and moving vehicles, and in the future with areas for the electric recharging of the circulating fleet. The completely renovated structure has 1,000 square meters of office space and 16,000 square meters of warehouse space. Of these, 8,000 have a height of 6 meters under the beams, while the remaining 8 exceed 9 meters in height. This latter half allows for vertical stock development and will be scaffolded later, while in the lower section it will be possible to work the goods on the ground, out of gauge and out of shape to intercept multiple product categories. Seven loading bays are currently operational, while there are 3 flush-fitting doors that allow vehicles to enter the warehouse for side unloading operations, for a daily flow of around 25 trucks. As far as human resources are concerned, 6 people currently work in the Pordenone hub, with the prospect of increasing the workforce to 10 based on future needs.

"We believe that it is important to listen to customers," concludes Ceccarelli, "trying, as far as possible, to anticipate their needs. This conviction has led us to develop integrated solutions in the supply chain field that allow customers to interact with a single entity for transport, software development and integration, process consultancy as well as for the availability of storage space."
